What This Calculator Estimates

This calculator estimates your daily calorie needs for weight maintenance. It first calculates your Basal Metabolic Rate, also called BMR, and then adjusts it based on your activity level.

Your BMR is the number of calories your body needs at rest to support basic functions like breathing, circulation, and temperature control.

Formula Used

This tool uses the Mifflin-St Jeor Equation, a widely used formula for estimating calorie needs.

Male: BMR = (10 × weight in kg) + (6.25 × height in cm) − (5 × age) + 5

Female: BMR = (10 × weight in kg) + (6.25 × height in cm) − (5 × age) − 161

Daily calorie needs are then estimated by multiplying BMR by your selected activity factor.
